Red Hook Crit is unlike any other sporting event on the planet, having started as a way to celebrate a birthday it has certainly evolved into something much else. According to its creator, David Trimble "Creating the F1 of cycling has been the vision since day 1. Love watching the best of the best hitting the apexes perfectly and rocketing down the straightaways at full tilt." When he means the "best" it really is the best cyclist from all over the world and from varying disciplines of cycling. Averaging speeds of 30 mph or more competitors must navigate a course on a track bike, a machine that has a "fixed" rear cog and front drive train that work dependently on one another, oh and I forgot to mention there are no brakes on these bikes either.

Race Day

Sunday Strong is a group of cyclist based out of Denver. Over the years many have moved on to pursue much more intentful and meaningful aspiration, nevertheless as a group they have stayed connected via the bike and conversation. The bike is what drew us together and allowed us to form deep bonds with one another, yet all roads eventually cross paths again.

Part of what makes this day, truly amazing regardless if you make into the finals or not. The simple time to celebrate friends, the bike and life for a brief moment.

A day to measure how tall individuals can cast their shadow. A time to move through life faster than most and beat the person next to you with everything this competition represents. The best, hitting the best course at the fastest speeds. All or nothing.
